Release of GMG ColorProof – Service Patch

Release date
ColorProof has been released today, Friday, January 11, 2019.

Supported version of GMG ColorProof
The patch has been tested and released exclusively for installation on the following GMG ColorProof versions:

Supported OS
•Windows 10
• Windows 8.1
• Windows 7
• Windows Server 2016
• Windows Server 2012 R2

Installation instructions

  1. Create an environment backup of your existing configuration (ColorProof 5.10)
  2. Fully close ColorProof, including the tray icon in the task bar
  3. Extract the file
  4. Double-Click the setup file Patch_CPx64_5.10.1.146_to_163.exe to run the setup file
  5. Start ColorProof after the installation wizard is closed
  6. ColorProof is now updated

Resolved issues

The following technical issues have been resolved in ColorProof Please note that the list describes the original problem, not the solution.

ProofControl Inline jobs - the 1st job of the day was not verified
From time to time, ProofControl Inline jobs were not measured. There was no verification data in the ColorProof history and there was no label printed on the proof. Typically, this happened at the first job of the day. When reprinting the job from the ColorProof history, the measurement was performed successfully. Tips & Tricks: Connection from Windows 7 to Mac lost after Microsoft update

After a Windows 7 update released on January 8, 2019 the SMB connection from the GMG PC to any connected systems (e.g. Macs) stopped working. This means you can no longer connect to your shared hotfolders.

The update affected is "Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB4480970)".

To resolve the issue, please uninstall the Windows update from Control Panel > Programs and Features > View Installed Updates.

Once uninstalled and restarted, the SMB connection should be working again. We recommend to disable Windows Updates until the issue is resolved.
