  • Tesco Bank to exit mortgage business – Tesco Bank, the lender associated with the largest supermarket chain in the UK, has decided to exit the residential mortgage market and sell its existing GBP 3.7bn loan portfolio. It comes as supermarkets, once seen as strong competitors to high street banks, have struggled with low profit margins due to low interest rates and the emergence of challenger banks. (BBC)
