Towage workers' overtime ban

23 Jun 2021 / Sullom Voe, United Kingdom

The union Unite has advised that around 40 towage workers which serve the port of Sullom Voe will begin on a seven-week overtime ban from 5 July if negotiations fail to reach an agreement with the Shetland Islands Council.

If the overtime ban goes ahead, it could disrupt operations to bring oil tankers to the shore for oil processing at Sullom Voe Terminal as well as production for the Brent and Ninian fields.

Negotiations are ongoing, with the next meeting is scheduled for Friday 25 June.
