Inner harbour industrial action

24 Jun 2021 / Fremantle, Australia

We have been notified by the Maritime Union of Australia (MUA) of industrial action for a period of 24 hours from 10:00am 25 June 2021 in the Inner Harbour. This stoppage involves Port Services Officers who are based in the Inner Harbour and whose employment is covered by the Fremantle Ports Operations and Services Enterprise Agreement 2017.

This industrial action notice is a ban on all duties except exemptions [provision of serves to livestock or passenger vessels, and emergency response work]. Fremantle Ports has also confirmed with the MUA that control room security services (e.g. gate access to areas controlled by FPA) will continue to be manned and performed during the period of industrial action.

Fremantle Ports is taking steps to mitigate the impact of the stoppage on our customers as much as possible.
