Marine site investigation off Middle Island

For approximately three months, marine site investigation works involving drilling of boreholes is being carried out [of Middle Island] in the following locations (WGS 84 Datum):
(A) 22° 14.391’ N 114° 11.062’ E
(B) 22° 14.251’ N 114° 11.274’ E

The works are being carried out by two jack-up barges and one work boat. One tugboat provides assistance.

A working area of approximately 20 metres around each barge is established. Yellow flashing lights are installed at the four corners of each barge to indicate its position.

The hours of work are from 0800 to 1800 hours. No works are being carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the works stay in the works locations outside the hours of work.

Vessels engaged in the operations display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.
