Underwater works off Changi East

From 23 July to 30 September, underwater works are being carried out off south of Changi East and west of AEBA, within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum).

2. 01˚ 18.567'N / 104˚ 00.656'E
3. 01˚ 18.471'N / 104˚ 00.812'E
4. 01˚ 18.350’N / 104˚ 00.740'E

WORKING AREA B
5. 01˚ 17.663'N / 104˚ 01.977'E
6. 01˚ 17.717'N / 104˚ 02.018'E
7. 01˚ 17.308'N / 104˚ 02.680'E
8. 01˚ 17.237'N / 104˚ 02.633'E

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.056 of 2021, the works are being conducted 24 hours daily including Sundays and Public Holidays.

Works at Area A entails the replacement of duckbill valves using a remotely operated vehicle.

Works at Area B entails the maintenance and inspection of underwater installations by divers.

A safety boat will be in attendance at all times to warn and re-direct craft in the vicinity to keep clear of the working area.

Craft involved in the works exhibit the appropriate local and international day signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area.
b) Maintain a proper lookout.
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution.
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 12 (East Control);
and
e) Communicate with East Control for assistance, if required.
