Construction of temporary Ro-Ro ramp

The working period for the construction of a temporary Ro-Ro ramp at Tuas South has been extended. The work is now being conducted from 1 August 2021 to 28 February 2022.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.057 of 2021 dated 30 July 2021, the work is being carried out 24 hours daily - including Sundays & Public Holidays - within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01°17·235'N / 103°38·991'E
2) 01°17·187'N / 103°39·017'E
3) 01°17·163'N / 103°38·969'E
4) 01°17·210'N / 103°38·943'E

The boundary of the temporary Ro-Ro Ramp will be marked by land surveyor. Land excavators will be used in the construction of the Ro-Ro Ramp by placing the rocks from the bottom of the slope.

Upon completion, a direct discharge platform will be positioned at this Ro-Ro Ramp.

Work barges will facilitate the transfer of excavated materials to TTP2 (Finger 3).

Craft involved in the works exhibit the appropriate local and international day signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);
and
e) Communicate with Jurong Control for assistance, if required.
