Cancellation of the Vessel Visit Creation Fee (ETA handling fee)

16 Aug 2021 / Panama Canal, Panama

In an effort to provide greater flexibility in the creation of the transit vessel itinerary and subsequent changes, the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) is permanently cancelling the current Vessel Visit Creation Fee (ETA handling fee) as originally announced in Advisory to Shipping A-02-2020, further clarified in Advisory to Shipping A-03-2020, and subsequently modified with Advisories to Shipping A-06-2020, A-10-2020 and A-23-2020.

Effective August 16, 2021, transit vessel itineraries will not require payment for the Vessel Visit Creation Fee (ETA handling fee). Transit vessel itineraries that have already paid the ETA handling fee prior to August 16, will have that amount deducted from the Tolls Invoice once the vessel has transited.
