Severe Typoon Chanthu

Ningbo and Zhoushan ports were closed yesterday (12 September), and all ships shifted to the open sea due to the approach of Severe Typhoon Chanthu.

At 11:18 hours local time today (13 September), the typhoon was about 135 km away to the east of Zhoushan, Zhejiang, and expected to move towards north-west at about 15-20 km/h and continue to decrease in strength slowly.

Chanthu may land in the area between Pudong, Shanghai and Qidong, Jiangsu or may just stay near Hangzhou Bay and CJK until 16 September before moving towards the north-east. Today and tomorrow, the Zhejiang/Shanghai/CJK area and Jiangu will experience strong winds on a scale between at least 6 & 8.
