Marine soil investigation off Helios Terminal, Jurong Island

From 18 October to 31 November, marine soil investigation works will be carried out off Helios Terminal, Jurong Island, at the following borehole co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
MBH-1 1⁰ 13.416’ 103⁰ 40.551’
MBH-2 1⁰ 13.395’ 103⁰ 40.530’
MBH-3 1⁰ 13.374’ 103⁰ 40.510’

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.073 of 2021, the works will be conducted 24 hours daily, including Sundays and Public Holidays.

Soil investigation works will be carried out by means of sinking boreholes from the jack up barge. A working radius of 30m around the jack-up barge is required.

Tugboats will be used for shifting the jack up barge between the boreholes.

A safety boat will be deployed to warn other craft to keep clear of the platform for the works.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear of the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and to navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 68 (West Control);
and
e) Communicate with West Control for assistance, if required.
