Production restored after leaks detected

29 Oct 2021 / Es Sidra terminal, Libya

Production at the Waha oil field has been restored after being cut by 70% due to two leaks in the Al Dhara pipeline.

The Director of Operations at Waha Oil Company reported yesterday (28 October) that in response to the drop in pressure reported in the pipeline, coordination was established between the control room in the Waha field and with the Waha field monitor in coordination with other fields, Dahra, Sidra and Samah. Two leaks were detected in the 30-inch back line - one 10km from Dhahra in the direction of Es Sider terminal, and the second 27km with the same direction.

A maintenance team has now brought both leaks under control.
