Testing of Autonomous Underwater Vehicle

Testing of Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) is being carried out south of Pulau Bukom Kechil from 22 to 24 November.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.081, the testing is being conducted from 0900 to 1800 hours daily within the working area is bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1 01˚ 13.378'N 103˚ 45.566'E
2 01˚ 13.378'N 103˚ 45.802'E
3 01˚ 13.266'N 103˚ 45.802'E
4 01˚ 13.266'N 103˚ 45.566'E

Work boats are being used to launch and recover the AUV. A safety boat is in attendance at all times.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Maintain a proper lookout;
b) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
c) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 68 (West Control);
and
d) Communicate with West Control on VHF Channel 68 for assistance, if required.
