The importance of representation (for example, gender and ethnicity) in medicine, particularly in medical cannabis, is something that The Royal Society of Medicine and Integro Medical Clinics Limited take seriously. Gender balance is something that was considered whilst designing the programme, however, we understand that due to the previous illegality and controversy surrounding medical cannabis, its acceptance into mainstream clinical practice is currently limited. We hope to help in changing this through educational events such as this one. Therefore, we are pleased to have some of the most influential and knowledgeable clinicians and researchers in the field of medical cannabis present at this meeting. Through events such as this, the hope is that more diverse professionals, especially women, within medicine and research feel more confident in exploring the potential that can be found in this field.
This meeting is in association with Eurox and Integro Medical Clinics who have provided funding support as well as input into the meeting agenda.
We would also like to thank our sponsors Aurora Medicine UK Limited, Grow Pharma, LVL Health and The Centre for Medicinal Cannabis for their support of this meeting. Please note that none of the companies listed have had any influence or involvement over the agenda, content or organisation of the meetings.
