    Situation

One Dance UK's 2021 report Everything We Loved About Dance Was Taken highlighted the catastrophic decline of dance education in the UK at primary, secondary and further education (FE) levels. We identified a reduction in the provision of dance curriculum hours, extra-curricular provision and the number of specialist dance teachers in mainstream settings due to shifting educational priorities and trends.

    Solution

U.Dance offers young people the opportunity to engage with the benefits of dance that they may be missing out on in mainstream education. U.Dance National Festival offers a plethora of activity including dance workshops, performances and career sessions delivered by industry professionals to build confidence and inspire learning across a 2-day event. The festival promotes dance as an engaging, education and vocational pathway for young people, benefitting health, wellbeing and social cohesion.
