Reduction in indexation of Scale of Rates

23 May 2022 / Haldia, India

In terms of the provisions of the Scale of Rates, the cargo, vessel and miscellaneous charges of Haldia Dock Complex were indexed by 10.77% with effected from 1 May 2022.

In view of the uncertainty as well as difficulties in the world of maritime trade and the increased burden on the trade due to such indexation, and considering the representations received against the same from customers at large, it has been decided to keep the indexation on cargo related charges at abeyance until implementation of the new Scale of Rates. Accordingly, there will be no increase in the cargo related charges (Part I of the Scale of Rates) at HDC and the rates applicable until 30 April 2022 will continue to remain valid.

Moreover, the increase in vessel related charges (Part VI and Part VII of the Scale of Rates) has been reduced to 3% from 10.77%.

The increase on miscellaneous charges (Part III of the Scale of Rates) would however continue to remain at 10.77%.
