Deployment of sensor and flow meter

Work to deploy a sensor and flow meter at Jurong Island is being carried out until 21 May 2022.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.085 of 2021, the work is being conducted 24 hours daily - including Sundays & Public Holidays - within the following working area at the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):

The deployment of acoustic sensors and flow meter is being carried out by work boats. The acoustic sensor will be attached to a ballast weight that is secured to the seabed. The flow meter will be attached to underside of buoy and anchored using three-point anchoring system.

A safety boat is deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity of the working area during the deployment or recovery.

Craft involved in the works exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the work area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 18 (Pasir Panjang);
and
e) Communicate with Pasir Panjang Control for assistance if required.
