Windsurfing competition and closure of landing steps

A windsurfing competition will take place in the Victoria Harbour on 14 December 2021 (Tuesday) during the period from 1700 to 1900 hours. About 20 windsurfers are expected to participate in the competition.

During the aforementioned period, a race area will be formed by a straight line joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A), (B) to (C) and the adjacent shorelines:
(A) 22 deg. 17.003’N 114 deg. 09.967’E
(B) 22 deg. 17.111’N 114 deg. 10.011’E
(C) 22 deg. 17.091’N 114 deg. 10.373’E

The windsurfers will sail across the Central Military Dock Outer Area to the starting point at the west of Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from the Central Pier No. 10 (CP10) and return to CP10 after finishing the race.

Masters, coxswains and persons-in-charge of vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution, giving practical consideration to the contestants. Compliance with the provisions of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea 1972 is mandatory.

Besides, all landing steps at south of CP10 and Central and Western District Promenade will be temporarily closed during the event period.

Owners and coxswains of vessels are advised to use other landing facilities in the vicinity during the period of closure.
