The low pressure area over Northeast Bay and adjoining area intensified into a well-marked low at 6pm on 18 august over the same area. It is likely to intensify further.
Under its influence, deep convection is taking place over North Bay and adjoining area.
Squally weather may affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.
Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted Local Cautionary Signal No.Three (R) Three.
All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay and deep sea have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed so that they can take shelter within a short notice.
