Removal of underwater obstructions

On or about the 9 & 10 February 2022, the Port of London Authority will be conducting diving operations at Gravesend Reach and Northfleet Hope to remove underwater obstructions in each location. One in the navigational channel adjacent to Tilbury 2 and one in the navigational channel adjacent to Hall’s, Northfleet.

The dive team will be working from the Port of London Authority vessels IMPULSE which will be moored alongside LONDON TITAN and aim to carry out the works over daytime low water over 2 days with each craft being on each site for 1.5hrs. Both vessels will be monitoring VHF Channel 68 at all times & should display International Code Flags ‘Romeo Yankee (RY)’ and ‘Alpha (A)’ as appropriate.

All passing vessels are required to navigate with caution and minimise their wash.

Requirements to proceed with caution or at slow speed will be made in accordance with the procedure set out in the Port of London Authority’s Port Information Guide, under ‘London VTS’, ‘Section 4’.

Further details will be broadcast by London VTS on VHF Channel 68.
