Sediment sampling southeast of Basalt Island, Sai Kung

For approximately two months, sediment sampling works will be carried out within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (F):
(A) 22º19.242’ N 114º25.579’ E
(B) 22º18.599’ N 114º25.581’ E
(C) 22º18.599’ N 114º25.991’ E
(D) 22º16.590’ N 114º25.987’ E
(E) 22º17.366’ N 114º23.409’ E
(F) 22º19.244’ N 114º24.511’ E

The works will be carried out by two flat-top work barges. One tug and one launch will provide assistance.

A working area of approximately 50 metres around each barge will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the barges.

The hours of work will be round-the-clock.

Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.
