Autonomous Underwater Vehicle test east of St John’s Island

From 17 to 28 January, Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) testing is being conducted off St John’s Island, at the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01⁰ 13.133’N / 103⁰ 51.137’E
2) 01⁰ 12.960’N / 103⁰ 51.229’E
3) 01⁰ 12.925’N / 103⁰ 51.137’E

The working hours are 0900 to 1800 hours daily, including Sundays.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.003 Of 2022, the AUV is being deployed and recovered by a work boat for tests East of St John’s Island. A safety boat is deployed to warn other craft to keep clear of the area during working hours.

Craft involved in the work exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the work area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 12 (East Control) & 68 (West Control);
and
e) Communicate with East & West control for assistance, if required.
