Calm has been restored across Sri Lanka today (15 July) following the announcement of the resignation of President Gotabaya Rajapakse.
The Prime Minister has assumed duties as the Acting President until nominations are received from parliament for an interim President on 19 July. Protestors occupying public buildings such as the official residence of the President have moved out.
All port operations and related services continue to function as usual and government authorities are operating during their usual business hours. All GAC offices in Sri Lanka operate as normal, without disruption.
