Installation of floating sea barriers

From today (22 March) to 30 June, work to install floating sea barriers will be carried out off Sungei Pandan, within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 1° 18.343'N / 103° 45.278'E
2) 1° 18.331'N / 103° 45.286'E
3) 1° 18.345'N / 103° 45.309'E
4) 1° 18.356'N / 103° 45.302'E

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.020 of 2022, the working hours are from 0800 to 1900 hours daily, including Sundays and Public Holidays.

The installation of floating sea barriers will be carried out using crane barges and work barges. Tug boats will be deployed to assist the positioning of the crane barges and work barges.

Safety boats will be in attendance at all times to warn and re-direct craft in the vicinity to keep clear of working area.

Craft involved will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch and communicate on VHF Channel 25 (Pasir Panjang Control) for assistance, if required.
