Odisha bears brunt of Cyclone Jawad

06 Dec 2021 / Odisha, India

Heavy rains lashed coastal Odisha submerging acres of cropland as Cyclonic Storm Jawad weakened into depression yesterday (6 December).

After pouring heavy rains across the coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, the remnant of Jawad is set to mark its presence over parts of east and northeast India, before eventually fizzling out.

At the port of Haldia, all arrivals/departures were suspended on Saturday. Movements expected to resume with departures on the day tide yesterday.

At Dhamra, working vessels and vessels at anchorage were shifted to safe sea area on 4 December. Vessel movements, rake movements and operations which were suspended returned to normal from 6 December.

All operations have also returned to normal at Vizag/Gangavaram.
