Works at Tuas Western Coast

The working period for works at Tuas Western Coast has been extended. The works are now being conducted from 4 December 2021 to 3 May 2022.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.86 of 2021, the works are being carried out from 0800 to 2200 hours daily - including Sundays and Public Holidays - within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):

The works involve the followings:
a) Dredging and dumping operations
b) Shifting and maintenance of navigational buoys
c) Shifting, installation and maintenance of temporary jetty within working area
d) Construction and maintenance of silt barricade within working area
e) Removal of rocks at existing revetments and construction of rock revetments
f) Re-handling works within working area
g) Receiving of external sand
h) Surveys: Pre/post survey, interim, progress (monthly) and 3-monthly surveys
i) Transportation and dumping of dredged material from Tuas Western Coast to Tuas Terminal Project 2 and South West Tuas Extension
j) Transportation and dumping of dredged material from Tuas Western Coast to Semakau Dumping Ground
k) Removal of decommissioned submarine cables
l) Underwater inspection using remotely operated vehicle

Safety boats will be deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity of the working area.

Craft involved in the works exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);
and
e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if required.
