Ports closed as hurricane due to make second landfall

30 Sep 2022 / United States

Hurricane Ian is due to make landfall for the second time just north of Charleston at around 1400 hours local time.

Due to the high winds and destruction caused the storm, the ports of Charleston, Jacksonville, Norfolk, Port Canaveral, Savannah, Tampa and Wilmington are all closed.

More than 2 million are without power in Florida, which is causing issues for US Coast Guard in assessing and repairing the damage.
