Port authority union members vote for industrial action

15 Mar 2022 / Lerwick – Scotland, United Kingdom

Unite union members working at Lerwick Port Authority have voted in support of industrial action, and will begin a continuous overtime ban from 28 March.

The action over pay, terms and conditions will include engineers, electricians, joiners and general operatives.

Unite is demanding that the port workers be brought into line with industry standards set by National Agreement for the Engineering Construction Industry (NAECI) and the Scottish Joint Industry Board (SJIB).
