Soil investigation work in Banyan Basin

Soil investigation work is underway in Banyan Basin until 9 November, at the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
BHM1 )01° 15.647’N / 103° 41.546'E
BHM2) 01° 15.660'N / 103° 41.557'E
BHM3) 01° 15.642'N / 103° 41.564'E

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.032 of 2022, the working hours are 24 hours daily, including Sundays and Public Holidays.

The soil investigation work is being carried out by jack-up barge upon completion of borehole drilling. Tug boats will be used for shifting the jack-up barge between the boreholes.

A safety boat will be deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity of the working area.

Craft involved in the work exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 68 (Sinki Control);
and
e) Communicate with Sinki Control on VHF Channel 68 for assistance, if required.
