A Moscow-born billionaire who recently renounced his Russian citizenship has topped this year’s Sunday Times Tax List, contributing more than £487 million to Britain’s public finances in just 12 months. It is equivalent to more than £1.3 million of tax a day — or £55,639 an hour.

The fifth edition of the Tax List — released as millions of people race to meet the self-assessment deadline — features figures from the worlds of music and the arts, as well as billionaire aristocrats and business leaders.
