Recall Roundup: Listeria monocytogenes and Salmonella

Pathogens

In the UK, Müller is recalling various Cadbury branded dessert products as there is a possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes in the products.

The products being recalled include: Cadbury Daim Chocolate Dessert, Cadbury Flake Chocolate Dessert, Cadbury Crunchie Chocolate Dessert, Cadbury Dairy Milk Buttons Chocolate Dessert, Cadbury Dairy Milk Chunks Chocolate Dessert, Cadbury Heroes Chocolate Dessert (six pack).

As well as recalling the aforementioned products, Müller has issued point-of-sale notices to consumers to explain why the product is being recalled.

If you have purchased any of the products, advice states not to eat them. Instead they can be returned to the store of purchase for a full refund with or without the receipt.

Elsewhere in the UK, Lactalis McLelland Ltd is recalling various goats cheese products as it has said that the products “might contain” Listeria monocytogenes.

Lactalis McLelland Ltd and Co-op have issued point-of-sale notices to their customers to explain why the products are being recalled.

Consumers that have purchased the product have been advised not to eat it. Instead, it can be returned to the store of purchase for a full refund.

Meanwhile, in the US, Rushdi Food Industries is recalling its “Mighty Sesame 10.9 Oz Organic Tahini (Squeezable)” due to a potential Salmonella contamination.

The affected product has an expiration date of 9/25/23 and the UPC code 858313006208. The company has highlighted that only products with these credentials are being recalled at this time and all other products are “okay to consume”.

The company has claimed that it has received no reports of illness or injury to date. 

Rushdi Food Industries has said that the recalled products were predominantly distributed to stores in the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut regions as well as some stores nationwide between 23 February 2023 and 5 March 2023. 

Consumers that have purchased the product have been advised to discontinue it immediately and discard or return it for credit or refund.
