It’s #InternationalMuseumDay! 🖼️🏛️ Who remembers when we spoke to FKA Twigs about #ACESupported project, The Wild Escape? In our video, FKA Twigs talks about the project and how art can connect us with nature. Led by Art Fund and funded by our largest National Lottery Project Grant to a museum, The Wild Escape was a creative project for young people focusing on UK biodiversity loss. 🦋 It was also the largest ever collaboration between UK museums – bringing 532 museums, galleries and historic houses and 103,000 young people together. About us
We champion, develop and invest in artistic and cultural experiences that enrich people's lives. We support activities across the arts, museums and libraries – from theatre to digital art, reading to dance, music to literature, and crafts to collections. By 2030 we want England to be a country in which the creativity of each of us is valued and given the chance to flourish and where everyone of us has access to a remarkable range of high quality cultural experiences. Between 2018 and 2022, we will invest £1.45 billion of public money from government and an estimated £860 million from the National Lottery to help deliver this vision.

We’re delighted that Greater Manchester will become the UK’s first Centre of Excellence for Music and Dementia, hosted by National Portfolio Organisation Manchester Camerata 🎉 💸 Over £1 million has been awarded through the Power of Music Fund, led by the National Academy for Social Prescribing, Arts Council England and The Utley Foundation. 🏠 The initiative will use knowledge and research to show how music support in dementia care can help reduce loneliness, improve quality of life and take pressure off the NHS. 🎵 The funding will support three years of direct musical support activities across Greater Manchester. Manchester Camerata will collaborate with the The University of Manchester and the NHS to research the impact and power that these music sessions have for people living with dementia. ☕ As part of this, Manchester Camerata and The Alzheimer's Society will support 300 Music Champions. They’ll be trained to deliver Music Cafes - supporting over 1,000 people living with dementia in Greater Manchester. 🌟 The Power of Music Fund has also awarded 70 small grants to grassroots organisations across the UK, supporting over 4,500 people living with dementia through musical activities.
