Market developments: Week 46

The effect of the measures following the second Corona wave will continue this week and will have visible effects on the Royal FloraHolland marketplace. Transactions for both clock and direct decline compared to last week. This week (week 46) the number of units sold on the clock was 12.6% lower than last year (cut flowers -12.3%; houseplants -10.3%; garden plants -31.3%). The supply was also 13.6% lower for direct sales, which is 5% down compared to last week.

The middle price on the clock was 9.5% lower this week at 33 Eurocents compared to the same week last year. Cut flowers -11.2% and houseplants -8.1% drop slightly, while garden plants have good pricing with +26.6%. Price formation for direct seems to be recovering somewhat, only -1.5% lower than the same week a year ago.

the percentage unsold this week is 1.5%. This is comparable to the percentage unsold in this period last year of around 1%.
