Food poverty - learnings from responses to Covid-19
The latest All-island Food Poverty Network event took place in October. The event explored the challenges and learnings from the response to tackle food poverty during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Guest speakers included:
  • Hannah Lambie-Mumford from the University of Sheffield who discussed responses to household food insecurity in the United Kingdom during Covid-19. The findings are part of the 'Food Vulnerability during Covid-19' project.
  • Sharon Polson from the Department for Communities (Northern Ireland) gave an overview of the Departments response to Covid-19 in Northern Ireland including Fare Share, the Covid-19 Community Support Fund and the Social Supermarket programme.
  • Eimear Delahunty from FoodCloud shared FoodCloud's experience in providing food to vulnerable groups in the Republic of Ireland during the pandemic.
