Social value fund success
Through our social value fund, National Highways aims to support community-led initiatives with funding of up to £10,000 per project. This is to help to maximise the broader benefits of the scheme, which includes contributing to the local economy, improving the environment, enhancing community well-being, and promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
So far, we’ve approved more than £30,000 for local projects since work began on the A303 Sparkford to Ilchester scheme. This has included awarding funding to:
- Cricket nets for Babcary Cricket Club
- Guidepost refurbishments in Marston Magna
- Football pitch repairs for Wincaton Town FC
- Garden improvements for Trent Young School
We’ll continue to work with local community groups and other interested parties on their suggestions. Please note that we can’t guarantee that every application will be successful. If you’d like to find out more, or talk to someone about what information you need to supply, please contact us on the scheme inbox at A303SparkfordtoIlchesterDualling@nationalhighways.co.uk
