Data submission survey

NHS Digital is reviewing the way in which data is transmitted from NHS providers to NHS Digital for secondary uses. The aim is to identify ways to reduce duplication and simplify existing data submission processes. Our
provider (Trust) and commissioning (CCG) surveys will enable us to capture, at a high level, the impact, indicative costs and timescales for the adaption of systems to enable these proposed changes. Both close at midnight on 12 July and we will update on the findings and next steps in due course.
AI in health and care survey – where are we now?

A fresh
state of the nation survey is being developed to provide further insights into pioneering data-driven innovations, apps and clinical decision support tools. This will support the NHS in developing a deeper understanding of intelligent algorithms, the problems they are solving and emerging activity in this field. It will help to assess what else is needed in terms of policies, investment, education, support and regulation. If you or anyone in your network is developing, deploying or utilising data-driven technology, please contribute or share the survey with colleagues.
Coming soon – the virtual data chatbot

We’re introducing a virtual data chatbot to help users locate published data, provide information about the Data Access Request service (DARS) and answer other data-related questions. A beta version will be accessible from the home page of the NHS Digital website next month on a pilot basis. We will monitor usage and user experience over an initial 12-week period pending a formal launch in due course. Please keep tabs on the home page to find out more.
Publications update

We publish a wealth of data and publications to support health and social care research. Recent publications include
