01 Outbreak of rare Salmonella type in Denmark and Austria

Salmonella Umbilo, a rare type of Salmonella has sickened 17 people in Austria and 20 people in Denmark. The source of the outbreak is currently being investigated.

02 Mustard products contaminated with peanuts leads to consumer warning and recalls

Urgent warnings have been communicated by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) and the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) following the contamination of mustard ingredients with peanuts. The contaminated mustard products have been traced to Indian suppliers, who supplied three spice companies in the UK. The alert has led to an extensive recall and advising people with a peanut allergy to avoid consuming foods that contain or may contain mustard, mustard seeds, mustard powder or mustard flour.
